The 2025 Golden Globes was, as usual, a tricky event to style. Taking place in early January – at a time when the most covetable autumn/winter collection pieces will have already been worn, and when everyone’s still in mince pie mode – it can feel like a bit of wild rush. “There’s almost no time to think,” said Rose Forde, who had a fortnight to pull together Emma D’Arcy and Coralie Fargeat’s looks for the Golden Globes red carpet (they wore McQueen and Balenciaga respectively). “But it means you end up being a little more intuitive with your decisions.”

As it turned out, the actors and actresses turned out, with a slew of head-turning looks from Prada to Balmain across the red carpet (why is that part always more exciting than the awards themselves?) This year, there were a lot of gold dresses (a winning formula), plenty of green (did Wicked get into the water?) and many-a-classic Hollywood silhouette throughout. And, as always, it was a typically starry event, with some of Hollywood’s biggest names making sure to show face (Angelina Jolie, Timothée Chalamet, Ayo Edebiri, Selena Gomez, Cate Blanchett, Zendaya, Kate Winslet, Ariana Grande, Demi Moore, Pamela Anderson, Nicole Kidman, Tilda Swinton and Kate Winslet to name just a few).
