Fragrance Was Aged in Hennessy Cognac Barrels
L'OFFICIEL
The latest fragrance collaboration mixes the worlds of luxury beauty and fine spirits for a jointly made perfume. On Tuesday morning, Hennessy and Guerlain Paris revealed Habit Rouge Spirit, a limited-edition scent infused with cognac notes through a non-traditional process.
The new scent was made similarly to Hennessy's own cognac: the perfume was soaked in two oak barrels, per the press release, one of which was new and the other had held cognac for 10 years. After weeks of soaking, both barrels were blended to get the final result, which is indistinguishable in its wood-y qualities without being overbearing. The perfume even resembles the amber hue of Hennessy's higher end cognacs.
Past its cognac flavours, the new Habit Rouge Spirit scent opens with a bright citrus accord of bergamot. Then, leather, nutmeg, amber, and vanilla essences bring the rest of it alive in a sultry harmony of notes. Guerlain Director of Perfume Creation Delphine Jelk and Hennessy Master Blender Renaud Fillioux de Gironde worked together to bring Habit Rouge Spirit to life.
